ANIMATIC FEEDBACK

good work we like the shot ideas. have you considered the sort of timings your shots are goin to last for and how well they will go with the track? looks like you have done some good planning..well done =)

Nice opening shot. Could try shortening the length of each shot to fit more varied shots in. Good idea shooting in the studio. What effects will you be using?

Q10 Animatic

Here is a little animatic to show some ideas that we will incorporate into our music video. And with this we will develop the idea of using black and white effects.

From the start we had an idea of just using an abstract theme video but as we progressed we thought it would have been a better idea if we didnt use the abstract idea for the video and decided to change our plan to actually have a storyline. The story line would help convey our music video in a better view by having performers in the video along side a narrative also Tom Woodcock stated that "it would be very silly not to have performers" in our music video.

Music video story

Story

3people
3 Days
3 Stories

Each character has their own story and colour which will be enhanced during the 3 day period.

Efa will act as a narrator through out each story and during each day, she will be invisable to the three characters even though she walks straight by them, which means we will have to have the choreography correct so the character act naturally as if she wasn't present.

The colour in the stories represents mood e.g. at the start each story in in black and white as characters are failing or doing bad then as they progress their abilities some colour is visable to show how the mood of the characters is slightley changing, then by the end each character has achieved their goal and are happy so the shot is in full colour.

Structure of our music video

Thursday, 13 September 2007

Coment from Tom

Well done, you have been successful. Now make sure you develop your ideas with and anamatic, shot and prop lists and location hunting. This is a good start to researching. However there is no real sense of the whole structure of the video or the shot you are going to use. You need to pull it all together and develop you initial thoughts.

Some Ideas

here are some of the style of effects that we will be using in our music video .

AND HERES OUR PERFORMER :) ( Maz wishes )

And here is the picture of the artist who made the track.
Artist: Santogold

Pitch

The inspiration from our music video is the 2005 film Sin City by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez Like the movie our video will be shot in film noir style in black and white but with a modern touch the use of spot colours such as yellow and green to give it a Caribbean feel and brighten it up in places .
Having researched the arist we've learnt that their genre of music is new wave dub and psychobilly, dub is influenced by 60s reggae that's why we've decided to give it a Caribbean feel it's almos as if we're taking the song back to is roots.

Music Video Project 2007-2008

Track: Shove It
Artist: Santogold
Genre: New Wave/DUB
Link: www.myspace.com/santogold

We have chosen this video and we have started to think about the camera techniques we are going to use. We also tried to contact the artist to ask if they want to add some ideas for the kind of style their music represents.

Some Concepts:

We looked at the start of the this music video and we thought that we can use it in our project.
Here are some other music video that are kind of related to the genre our artist makes.
