Feed Back

Genre-hip hop urban.Surburban streets and underground match the streetwise feel to the song.the ambulance signifies danger and trouble which is also common to hip hop smoking and groups of people (and no one looks very happy).

Relationships-ej's part would be more believable if it was synchd up proply
.the "we think your a joke" goes to a kind of taunting shot with the group on the stairs.

Editing- love the pivot shot begining at 00.08 , love the shot of efa and the crew on the stairs.

Mise en scene- good quality editing, 1.27 love the bit with the leaves with layered shot underneath.black and white with patched colour is very good and effective and interesting.

Special effects-liked the effects of the only colour being on her face as worked well the black and white emphasised the different artist...rapper didnt over use the effects.

This is our finished music video....

comparison between our music video and a music video of same genre

Skream- Uk Dubstep

Similarities- slow paced cuts that co-operate with the musical beat
black and white footage with colour effects.
Beats kind of the same.

Differences- No performers ,instrumental track.
Voyerism.
Dancers.
Dark settings through out the whole video.
Too colourful.

Feedback

During our planning we almost spend 20% of our time thinking about how our music video is going to look like. (eJ) This included our planning for the pitch as well. we spent 10% of our time on the preproduction section , this is where we ran some test shots then uploaded and testes some of our effects, rehearsed some of the shots and scouted areas to shoot such as the crown court car park.we also spent 20% of our time shooting , which wasn't as much as we were planning to shoot for. We actually needed less time to film than what we thought. We then spent 40% of our time on the editing , because of the effects we wanted in our video , we tried to set aside as much time as we could for our editing. Then we spent the last 10% of our time to sort out the transitions and make sure the effects were all running smooth (which we did at the end of they editing, most of the effects had been done during the editing stage.)(Jamal)

My role in this group was to be the editor. My job was to upload all the footage into the time line, lip sync the whole footage into the music, organize the footage in accordance to the whole story in which we want to show our music video. It was quite hard to work at first because our first idea didn't actually work with our genre. so we re-drafted our first plan and came up with another concept idea of just having performance because it was quite hard to base our story to the lyrics. with the new footage it was quite easy to play around with the footage because its a performance music video. during the editing i tried mixing a lot of shot and tried a lot of effects. and at some point i tried putting layers to the footage to make the effect of having black and white with colors on it. it took time and effort but at the end it was worth it.

I took on different roles during this project which included Filming, editing and blogging
Filming: i filmed efa's performance sequence in the garages, which was our main night of filming.
Editing: i came in during free periods and early mornings to assist ej with editing and i also came in for a night session to continue with some solo editing
Blogging: whilst in class i tryed to keep the blog up to date with regular posts.

new shot idea

During the music we are experimenting in new ways to change between shots other than transitions we have now decided for the mans lyrics we are going to zoom in on our female performers eye so you can see the male performer then we will coninue to zoom in until it is in the male performers location.

Rough Cut Q10

group11: we like it. it works well with the genre. looks like it will tyrn out to be a really good video. looks very professional.

Claim For More Shots

we need to shoot some more shots of our performer. At the moment we have shots our performer but all in one location. We need to shoot in some other locations because at the moment it is looking very dull. We also need to reshoot the male part of the song where he does his vocals. We do have some test footage of the male's vocal part but we need to reshoot it as when we tested it we did not have the full lyrics.
